NYU’s “The Real Rosie the Riveter Project” is an open-resource archive of interviews of women who worked in the factories during the second World War. This project is meant to highlight the work that these women did and gives recognition to the people who served their country while the men were away doing their duty. The variety of work completed by these women was generally “men’s” work, so their doing these jobs was normally a thankless job, but this project is a way to thank them.

Abstract

NYU’s “The Real Rosie the Riveter Project” is an open-resource archive of interviews of women who worked in the factories during the second World War. This project is meant to highlight the work that these women did and gives recognition to the people who served their country while the men were away doing their duty. The variety of work completed by these women was generally “men’s” work, so their doing these jobs was normally a thankless job, but this project is a way to thank them.
