Completed in 2016, the Pacifica Radio Archives collection “American Women Making History & Culture 1963 – 1982” is comprised of over 2.000 audio recordings spanning across almost two decades of women’s history. The recordings were originally aired in California, New York City, Dallas, and Washington D.C. from five radio stations. These recordings emphasize the contributions of women both domestically in the United States as well as addressing international events. The purpose of this archive is to show the contributions made by women to Pacifica programming as well as the contributions the station had to the overall women’s movement.
