The Global Nonviolent Action Database is exactly what it says on the label. It is more of a reference guide than it is a primary source. Its greatest function is its use in facilitating spatial and ideological links between campaigns across time and continents which may have otherwise gone unnoticed. By focusing on individual actions and demonstrations over entire movements, the GNAD also serves to orient race, gender, and geographic region outside of the confines of the western hemisphere.
